Darjeeling Travel Expert Tips

Sinchula Treks brings you essential local advice for a smooth and royal hill experience.

Carry Warm Clothes

Even in summer, Darjeeling evenings can get chilly. Light woolens are essential for evenings, while heavy jackets are a must for winter (Dec-Feb).

Pre-Book Transport

During peak seasons, taxis are in high demand. Book your Private Cab with us in advance to avoid last-minute price hikes and availability issues.

Tiger Hill Early Start

For the iconic Kanchenjunga sunrise, leave your hotel by 3:45 AM. Beating the traffic is key to getting the best viewpoint at the summit.

Cash is Crucial

While digital payments work in Mall Road cafes, carry liquid cash for small tea stalls, local handicrafts, and heritage shared taxi rides.

Altitude Acclimatization

Stay hydrated. Darjeeling is at 2,042m. Avoid heavy walks on the first day to let your body adjust to the thin mountain air.

Mobile Connectivity

Jio and Airtel offer the best network in town. For remote tea estates, download your maps offline as signals can be patchy in deep valleys.

⭐ Sinchula Pro Tip: UNESCO Toy Train tickets sell out months in advance. Always book your joyride via the IRCTC website well before your travel dates!
